About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Charlotte's charming Belmont Village, Ace No. 3 Belmont Village is a must-visit for hamburger lovers craving a fresh, flavorful twist on classic American comfort food. This cozy burger joint captures the essence of a friendly neighborhood eatery with a casual dining atmosphere that invites guests to relax and savor every bite. Whether you’re grabbing a quick takeout or settling into one of their intimate tables, game corner, or window-side bar seats, the welcoming vibe pairs perfectly with their mouthwatering menu.

The star here is undoubtedly their lineup of smash-style burgers, crafted from freshly pressed 1/4 lb patties grilled to perfection. The iconic Ace Burger is an irresistible combination of two juicy patties layered with melted American cheese, caramelized grilled onions, crisp house pickles, and their signature Comeback sauce—a zingy, tangy condiment that ties all the flavors together beautifully. For those who love to customize, the “Create It” options let you build your ideal burger on a soft, buttery brioche bun, with everything from double cheeseburgers to veggie and vegan patties. The Triple ACE Burger, with three patties stacked high, is a carnivore’s dream and a real crowd-pleaser.

Accompanying these delectable burgers are sides that elevate the meal even further. The fries are a particular highlight, loved by locals for their crisp exteriors and fluffy interiors—so good they often don’t even need dipping sauce. Fans rave about the sweet potato tots as well, offering a sweet and savory contrast to the savory mains. And if you’re in the mood for something unique, the Fried Bologna Sandwich or the Belmont Chili Single deliver classic diner-style comfort with a modern touch.

No burger experience would be complete without a shake, and Ace No. 3 shines here, too. Indulgent choices like the Oreo Milkshake, Boozee Milkshake Strawberry with whipped cream and a splash of vodka, or the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Shake add a playful, decadent finish to your meal. The chocolate and caramel milkshakes are velvety smooth, perfectly balancing sweetness with a creamy richness.

What truly sets Ace No. 3 apart is the way it blends quality ingredients with a laidback, welcoming atmosphere. As one regular, Zach, put it, “This burger, dog and fries were perfection. Simple, packed with flavor and just a downright delicious meal.” Another diner praised the perfectly crisped smash patties and exceptional fries, noting how those fries alone are “out of this WORLDDD good.”

While the restaurant’s space is modest, it offers an inviting mix of indoor and outdoor seating, ideal for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. The staff is attentive, delivering your freshly prepared meal directly to the table, which adds a nice personal touch to the experience. Some visitors do mention occasional speed bumps like limited beverage options and tricky parking nearby, but these minor issues don’t overshadow the consistently satisfying quality of the food.

For families, Ace No. 3 also caters well with a simple but thoughtful kids’ menu, including a grilled cheese on toasted brioche and a jumbo hot dog served on a soft potato roll, so little ones can enjoy the flavors too.

If you’re exploring Charlotte’s Belmont Village and hunger for an expertly crafted smash burger paired with imaginative sides and unforgettable milkshakes, Ace No. 3 Belmont Village is a gem worth discovering—flavorful, comforting, and brimming with character.

A little burger place in Belmont village. Order at the counter for takeout or dine-in the small dining area with tables, a game corner, and bar seating at the window, in addition to an outdoor seating area to the side of the building. Once you place your order and pay, they'll bring your meal to you. Very flavorful juicy burgers with a few combo options. Boozy milkshakes and a few side options. We enjoyed a Hangover Burger and a custom Double Burger. Very filling and very tasty. Highly recommend for a casual meal. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars

Absolutely DELISH* - *chef's kiss* The smashed single patties had a very nice outer ring of crisp to them and tasted AMAZING Always love the option to add an egg or make it a lettuce bun too. Definitely going to go back next time for that. Btw their fries? out of this WORLDDD good!! I haven't had such good fries in SO long. Mouth watering- they didnt even neeed any sauce to me Strawberry milkshake was sooo good- thanked the cashier who made it for me. She was incredibly kind. And they even had boozy milkshakes; I was very tempted by that Caramel Crown Totally recommend this personable, little joint!! Worth a shot for you and your family!!

Really solid burger joint. It’s a smash-style patty which is my favorite, but like other smash burgers be aware the meat is a bit drier than a typical patty. The toppings were excellent, and I appreciated the option to add jalapeños. The bun was a bit firm which prevented the burger from being sloppy to hold, though it did affect the texture when you bite into it, but I much prefer that over a messy grab. The fries were decent but nothing to write home about. I have heard good things about the shakes but did not have the opportunity to try one myself. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, it feels like a somewhat upscale dive and they have nice soul/funk tunes playing. The main caveat I have with this place is that it is pricey as the sides are not included with the price of a burger.

The burgers at this place are absolutely sensational, and the fries are delightfully crispy—truly amazing! However, I was a bit let down by the limited selection of beverages. The parking situation can be quite daunting, but don't let that deter you. On my visit, the cashier seemed a bit edgy, and I noticed the staff could have done a better job of replenishing the ketchup supply. Honestly, the ketchup packets are just not sufficient, which was a little disappointing. Despite these issues, I’m definitely planning to return, though I’m still apprehensive about the parking. That’s part of the unique charm! And I must say, the ice cream was surprisingly good, making it a worthwhile visit overall.

My fiancé and I always rate new burger joints we try. We take everything into consideration, burger, buns, fries, drink, aesthetic, and service. This was a solid 7.5! Only change would be the bun, maybe needs toasting? Anyways! We loved it! Great service, great taste, and the atmosphere was great! They even have a covered patio area that has water bowls and tennis balls for your furry friend!

"Now that was a tasty burger." Ace No. 3 did not disappoint. The much awaited for visit finally happened today, and I opted for The Ace, which is the closest to an In n Out Double Double on the menu. The meat was slightly overcooked, but the burger was fantastic. The topping were great, the comeback sauce complemented everything, and the bun was sturdy enough to hold it without disintegrating. The fries were great; the onion rings were average. Parking on site is very limited, but there's plenty of parking in the nearby neighborhood - just watch out for restrictions on certain sides of the street! I'd highly recommend and look forward to returning on my next trip to Charlotte.
